We aim to offer anyone and everyone a chance to play and or watch Wheelchair Rugby League or Wheelchair Basketball, in a safe and friendly environment.  All or coaches are qualified up to a minimum of level 2 and are fully DBS checked (old CRB). We have fully qualified first aiders, touchline managers and welfare officers to ensure we offer our very best to keep everyone happy and safe at our club


ABOUT US

Welcome to North Wales Crusaders Wheelchair Rugby League and Disability Sports Club where Seniors, Juniors, Regional Development, for all wheelchair users, non wheelchair user, amputees, any age and any sex making us a fully inclusive club for anyone who wants to have a go at wheelchair sports in a safe friendly enviroment 

The club was set up in April 2013 in a joint venture between North Wales Crusaders, Wales Rugby League and Disability Sports Wales.  The idea was to make Rugby League in North Wales and the surrounding areas accessible to everyone.  To help achieve this goal North Wales Crusaders RL Wheelchair & Disability Sports Association Charity (No 1152687) was set up to help fund and promote the club and to enabling us to grow.

We where the first Rugby League club to be awarded the Insport Blue Ribbon for our hard work by Disability Sports Wales.

2018 will see us moving the club forward by introducing new wheelchair sports, beginning in March with Wheelchair Basketball which is being delivered with the support of North Wales Basketball

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE

It is played to a true form of the sport. Using an indoor court, the game is played with a rugby ball and rugby posts. The ball is passed backward,

Kicking is done with a closed fist, Sets of 6 tackles, 5 players on court.

WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL

Wheelchair basketball retains most major rules and scoring of basketball, and maintains a 10-foot basketball hoop and standard basketball court. The exceptions are rules which have been modified with consideration for the wheelchair.
