Joining the Crusaders ahead of the 2022 season after attending a taster session with University of Chester and Cheshire Phoenix.
Jones had a breakout season in 2022, picking up a trio of awards for his efforts on pitch, claiming Championship ‘MVP’, Championship ‘Captain’s Player of the Year’ and the coveted Championship ‘Player’s Player of the Year’.
His fine form in 2022 resulted in him being named as captain for the club’s ‘A’ team ahead of their 2023 season in the Championship North, where he was able to guide the team to an undefeated season and was chosen to lift the league title at last years Grand Final.
Jones, who first started his career in the running game system in Wrexham opened up in early 2023 about his time playing the running game and as the only transgender Wheelchair Rugby League player in Wales. This interview can be found here.
