Bamford joined the Crusaders midway through the 2023 season from fellow Championship club Rochdale Hornets, bringing with him a wealth of experience gained during a seven-year spell with the Lancashire side.

During his time with the Hornets, Bamford featured in both Peacock Cup campaigns and established himself as a dependable member of the squad before making the move to North Wales.

Initially joining the Crusaders as a winger, Bamford successfully adapted his game to operate as a middle/centre, becoming an important part of the Crusaders ‘A’ side. His versatility and work ethic played a key role in the team’s successful 2023 campaign, which culminated in the Championship title.

Bamford also made a valuable contribution on the scoresheet, crossing for a try in the Crusaders ‘A’ side’s final fixture of the season against York RLFC (Knights), helping the team conclude a memorable title-winning year.
