Joining the Crusaders midway through the 2023 campaign from fellow Championship side, Rochdale Hornets.

Bamford who joined the Crusaders midway through the season following a seven year spell with the Hornets, which included being a part of the Hornets side at both Peacock Cups that the Hornets attended.

Joining the Crusaders as a winger, Bamford would soon transition into a 'Middle/ Centre' and was a key player in the Crusaders 'A' team who went on to claim the league title, scoring a try in the teams final game of the season against York RLFC (Knights).
