Jonathan who became just second individual to come play for the Crusaders through being a participant in the clubs schools initiative, however, this time though, Gill was one of the schools teachers rather than a student.
Gill who is known for his handling skills and confidence on-court as well as his bubbly mentality off-court, had a standout season for the Crusaders last year. Making his debut and sole ‘A team’ debut in the sides pre-season friendly against Warrington Wolves ‘A’.
After his club debut with the ‘A team’, Gill was swiftly promoted to the ‘first team’ where he remained for the duration of the season to which he cemented his place in the starting line-up for the side.
His form was rewarded by claiming the clubs acclaimed ‘Newcomer’ and ‘Players’ Player’ awards at the clubs annual awards night.
The 2025 season will see Jonathan sponsored by, West Kirby School & College, where their teaching, clinical and whole school staff team are enthused by the opportunity to support, help and enable children and young people. Under the motto, 'Changing children's lives'.
