Owlett joined the Crusaders towards the end of the 2023 season and has quickly become a valued member of the club.

Originally from Keighley, one of Rugby League’s traditional heartlands, Owlett moved to North Wales to further her studies. Prior to taking up the sport, she had been a familiar face around the club for several years, regularly supporting both the North Wales Crusaders Men's and Women's teams.

Following her introduction to Wheelchair Rugby League, Owlett made the transition from supporter to player and was set to make her Rugby League debut in 2024. Her enthusiasm for the sport and commitment to the club have made her a popular figure within the Crusaders setup.

The 2026 season will see Claire sponsored by, The Royal Oak Wrexham, nestled between some of Wrexham's biggest and oldest building in the heart of Wrexham's high street. The Royal Oak has been an ever present of the Wrexham nightlife since opening its doors. A proud part of the Joule's Brewery family, the Royal Oak is known for being one of the narrowest establishments in Wrexham whilst also stretching for over 40 yards as well as having the centre's only working stone fire place.
