RFL MATCH PREVIEW: North Wales Crusaders vs Salford Red Devils

North Wales Crusaders are once again at home this weekend as they take on Salford Red Devils for the in what promises to be an entertaining affair.

This will only be the second competitive fixture between the two sides, the last meeting between the two sides saw North Wales defeat the Red Devils 12-0 in the in the Challenge Trophy back in April.

Prior to the Challenge Trophy meeting back in April, the two sides have only met once before. That being way back in pre-season 2024, as the Crusaders welcomed the Red Devils in what was one of the Red Devils' first ever fixtures. The Crusaders managed to come away with a 42-17 victory in Wrexham.

The visitors will be looking to continue their momentum from their previous league fixture as they managed to push future Super League side, Warrington Wolves to the absolute limit, though they did fall 38-18.

The Red Devils will be looking to lean on their experienced players for some on-field guidance as they are player-coached by former Warrington Head Coach and current Scotland Assistant Coach, Dave Abel. Featuring in the Salford team will be one player who is well known to the Crusaders in Poppy Cayton, this will be the fourth different team in which Poppy has featured for against the Crusaders, having previously featured for Leyland Warriors (now Wigan Warriors) in various RFL competitions and most recently for both Torfaen Tigers and Cardiff Blue Dragons in the Welsh league.
