RFL MATCH PREVIEW: Rochdale Hornets vs North Wales Crusaders

North Wales Crusaders look to return the favour to the hornets as they look to claim a victory in their last game of the season.

These two sides met in a highly entertaining season opener in Deeside back in mid-July which saw the Hornets claim a famous 55-48 victory over the Crusaders.

Rochdale will be looking to continue their recent run of form following pushing table toppers, Hereford Harriers to the absolute limit in a highly entertaining encounter which saw the Harriers come away with the 34-14 victory but the Hornets the moral victory.

The weeks following saw the Hornets claim a 2-point victory against Salford Red Devils before claiming their second victory of the season in a high scoring affair against Widnes Vikings, with the Hornets coming away with a 76-50 victory in Widnes.

Saturday may see the return of Crusaders veteran, Harry Jones as he hopes to return following an extended absence from playing following successful surgery. The game will also be Stephen Halsey’s last as he opts to take a break from the sport to concentrate on his business.

The game will also be key for the Crusaders as they look to gain a home advantage in their play-off game. The Crusaders are set to face off against York in a battle of the best second places.

With both teams currently guaranteed second place in each of their respected league tables with the team with the best points difference being given the home advantage come season close. Crusaders know that a high scoring victory will increase their chances of a home play-off against York
