Ian Edwards has stepped down from the board of trustees.
Ian has been a trustee since the launch of the team and Charity back in 2013, and held the longest tenure out of any of the other trustees in the charities history. Ian is stepping down from his position ahead of surgery to assist his cancer treatment later this year.
Ian Edwards, went on to say:
“First off, I would like to thank all those at the club and charity for their continued support during my recent health battles.”.
“I have loved being a part of this club since its inception back in 2013 and never did I think it would have developed into such an integral part in the rugby league culture in north wales as well as becoming one of the largest Wheelchair RL clubs across the entire sport”.
“It has been a privilege to have been a part of such amazing club for all these years, and it has been an honour to watch to club grow from a small wheelchair rugby league team to a highly successful charity and an even more successful club.”
“My message to the fans and members is that they need to continue to back the Club as they do, they are a big driver within disability sports in wales and I look forward for a bright future for North Wales Crusaders Wheelchair Rugby League.“
Current chairperson, Stephen Jones said: “I would like to thank Ian for his efforts for the Crusaders wheelchair over such a long period of time. Ian is not a person who chases praise and recognition for the work he has done at this Club but I’m sure in time to come, Ian will look back at his tenure with great pride”.
“Ian will be sorely missed within the charity and finding someone with his passion for rugby league and knowledge of not only sport but to legal matters will be an extremely difficult task.
Everyone at North Wales Crusaders Wheelchair Rugby League and Disability Sports Association would like to thank Ian for his 11 year service to the club and wish him all the best with treatment.
Application to become a North Wales Crusaders Wheelchair Rugby League and Disability Sports Association trustee will soon open.
